Beautiful Weekend

This weekend had been absolutely beautiful in Houston and Clayton and I have done all we can to enjoy this weather. We took our little Westie, Bella, for a LONG walk around one of our subdivision lakes on Friday evening, worked in the yard Saturday and for the most part of Sunday, and enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio of La Madeline after church. :-)

I also worked in the nursery today taking inventory on the baby things that I have graciously been given by my older sister, April. A couple of years ago April and Scott gave Clayton and I all of these bags full of baby clothes, baby bibs, binky's, blankets, a bumbo chair, toys etc. It will be something amazing for her to see her niece or nephew wearing an outfit that one of her babies use to wear. We so graciously appreciate all that she and Scott have done and given to us to help start our family out a little easier. It was really a lot of fun for me to sit in the empty nursery and just take in all of the wonderful baby goodness. It is also surreal to know that in just a few months that same empty nursery will be filled with such noise and plain cuteness!

Don't worry, once the nursery is all set up I will post some pictures. Clayton and I are getting eager to set up the crib, changing table, curtains, and bedding---or at least I am! :-)

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

We love you all!

Week 26

Wow! It is amazing how much my belly has grown and how crazy it is to wake up one day and realize that this belly of mine is rounder and harder than ever because of our little baby growing inside! Yesterday, while we were in Nordheim, Texas visiting Clayton's family and our new little nephew, Layne, Clayton said to me in front of his family, "Wow, Brooke I think the baby grew today because your belly is much bigger this afternoon than it was this morning." Believe it or not--I think he is right.

We also went to the doctor last Thursday. Everything is perfect. We heard his or her little heartbeat and man it was fast---about 165-168 beats per minute. I of course have gained a little more weight in my belly and my blood pressure was fine. We pray that this little one continues to grow strong and healthy. I will keep you posted for more details as they come.

Week 23

Well, we have made it to week 23 of the pregnancy and I am beginning to feel a whole lot better--well, I still do have those occasional nausea feelings in the early hours of the morning--but it is nothing that a good bowl of whole grain cereal can't fix. Clayton and I have set up the cradle in our room and our most adorable bedding from Pottery Barn came in a few weeks ago!! I will post pictures when everything looks ready. :-)

Pregnant Moments

Welcome to our family website! Clayton and I wanted to start this blog to keep all of our friends and family updated on our growing family. I will do my very best to keep the site updated weekly for sure.
Well, I am 22 weeks pregnant (5 months along) and I am finally feeling great. My belly is much bigger than I am use to, but it is just a little baby bump right now. I have gained approximately 11 pounds thus far and I am beginning to feel the weight when I stand from the indian style position when I am working on the floor with the kiddos at work. The other morning Clayton was talking to my belly when I felt the baby move from the left side of my abdomen to the right side where Clayton was positioned. Then the baby began to kick Clayton's cheek several times as if he or she was so excited to hear DADDY!!! We are both so excited and cannot wait for the arrival of this little one. We both wake up happier every morning and we just feel so blessed!
